Curriculum Vitae
Fabio Martignon is currently Full Professor, since June 2017, at the University of Bergamo, in the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering.
He obtained the Laurea degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2001 and a European PhD in Information Technology in 2005, both cum laude, from Politecnico di Milano, earning the Chorafas prize for the best PhD thesis. In 2010 he received the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6).
From September 2011 to May 2017 he has been Full Professor ("Professeur des Universités") at Université Paris-Sud, working in the Laboratoire de Recherche en Informatique (Paris-Saclay University is currently ranked 15th in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities). In April 2011, he was also classified 1st among 82 participants at the French CNRS Senior Researcher "CR1" competition, Computer Science section.
He has been Junior Member (October 2013-May 2017) of the Institut Universitaire de France (only 2% of French University Professors have been currently distinguished by IUF), and member of the selection committee of IUF in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
His works appear in the main networking journals (like IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE TCC, IEEE TMC, IEEE TPDS, IEEE TVT, IEEE TWC, IEEE TNSM, Elsevier Computer Networks and Ad Hoc Networks, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing) and in the most prestigious networking conferences. His research activities have occurred within projects funded by the European Union, by the Italian Research Ministry (PRIN projects) and by several companies (Alcatel, Siemens and Espia/VoiSmart).
He is Senior Member of the IEEE.
