Curriculum Vitae
Micol Pizzolati is Associate Professor (with national qualification for Full Professorship) in General Sociology.
Since 2023, she has co-curates the interdisciplinary research group CREATIVE METHODS OPEN LAB, which hosts visiting researchers and accompanies collaborative processes of research, reflection, and experimentation.
In 2024, she was elected to the Scientific Board of the Research Network “Biographical Perspectives on European Societies” of the European Sociological Association. She is also a member of the Global Consortium of Body Mapping in Research.
Her recent work has focused on personal and collective experiences of care and on representations of biographical transitions. She explores, also in their ethical and procedural dimensions, a range of approaches including body mapping storytelling, collage, narrative drawing, memory work, digital storytelling, and the identity box. She integrates material, visual, experiential, and collective forms of expression and reflection into university teaching.
She serves on the Editorial Board of the following journals About Campus | Action Research | Journal of Participatory Research Methods. She is also a member of the International Advisory Board of Critical Social Policy.
From 2020 to 2023, she was the Programme Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies at the University of Bergamo.
