Syllabus

Course Objectives

To learn analytical tools and methods in the field of the business and economic history. To be able to single out the main carchters of the firm in the different historical settings

lectures, team work, workshops, e-learning activities.

Assessment Methods

Those who attend the course will have a in class written exam (30%), a take home written exam (30%) and have to prepare a
team report and presentation (30%). Attendance and involment in class activity is evaluated as well (10%).
One to one discussion on the assigned reading for those who do not attend

Contents

The first part of the course aims at improving students' knowledge of the industrial history of the world, and Itay in particular. Some case studies are proposed, in order to analise the different type of enterprises and theri behaiour durinsg the transition from first, second and third industrial revolution. The second part of the course is devoted to methodological aspects and students will acquire the tools necessary to a Business History approach.
