Curriculum Vitae
Stefano Coniglio is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bergamo (UniBg). He joined UniBg in 2022, after earning a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Politecnico di Milano in 2011 and spending ten years conducting research and teaching abroad in Germany and the United Kingdom.
His research interests focus on deep learning and, in particular, on models and methods for neural-network–based machine learning as well as on algorithm design and analysis and on mathematical optimization.
He is the co-author of more than 50 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings, and has given talks at numerous conferences in the field.
Since November 2023, he has been a member of UniBg’s Interdepartmental Working Group on Artificial Intelligence, within which he helped design an interdepartmental Ph.D. program in AI.
At UniBg he teaches Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Deep Learning courses in bachelor’s and master’s programs.
He has collaborated with national and international organizations including National Grid plc, the UK Met Office, Airbus, Babcock International, BT, CESI, and CISL. Since 2023, he has served as principal investigator of the local research unit for the PRIN-PNRR project HEXAGON: Highly-specialized EXact Algorithms for Grid Operations at the National level.
