Curriculum Vitae

Matteo Molinari, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the Department of Management at the University of Bergamo. He serves on the PhD Board in Management Accounting and Finance and is a member of the Research Quality Committee. He is responsible for the study plan and curriculum of the Master’s Degree Program in Accounting, Governance, and Sustainability, and he is also part of the working group on sustainability reporting at the University of Bergamo. He works within the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance to implement Joint PhDs among the Universities partner of the Alliance.

Credentials
Matteo Molinari was a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Roehampton, London. He was a member of the Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management, and previously he was a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Kent, Canterbury -UK. He also served as a GTA/PhD Coordinator. He was Class Lecturer in senior postgraduate accounting courses at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
He obtained his joint international PhD in Accounting - excellent with honours - from the Universities of Siena, Pisa, and Florence - Italy. He was a PhD research scholar at the University of Auckland - New Zealand, a long-visiting scholar at King’s College, University of Cambridge, and a summer-visiting scholar at Loyola University Chicago - United States.
He holds the Italian national scientific qualification to Full Professor of Accounting, a PGCHE from the University of Kent and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research
Professor Molinari’s main research interests include Accounting History, Management Accounting, and Sustainability Accounting. His research aims at advancing accounting knowledge and extending the boundaries of accounting research by contributing to the interdisciplinary literature and stimulating discussion among academics and practitioners. He relies on the intense observation of the cultural, social, economic, and legislative contexts.
His research track record is top-tier international journals oriented with multiple papers published in 3* ABS journals, including Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Business Strategy and the Environment, The British Accounting Review. He has won multiple academic research grants issued by the UK government, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Italian Academy of Accounting and Reporting (SIDREA). His PhD research project has been awarded by SIDREA.
Professor Molinari serves as an Associate Editor for Meditari Accountancy Research Journal, and he serves as a referee for several international scientific journals and book publishers.

Professional Activities
Professor Molinari has collaborated with the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) in the planning, organization, and coordination of training and research initiatives.
He has delivered and been invited as a trainer and speaker for several executive training courses in Accountability and Governance, CFA, CPA, Cash Flow Management, Management and Performance Control, Public Financial Management, Strategic Thinking, Sustainability Accounting and ESG Reporting. He is an Approved Trainer from the 'Institute of Leadership'.
