Benedetta Calandra is Associate professor of History and Institutions of the Americas at the University of Bergamo, Italy, member of the Phd Teaching Board for Landscape Studies for Local and Global Challenges and in charge of the Selection Committee for incoming non-EU students for the MA Intercultural Studies in Languages and Literatures (ISLLI).
From 2016 to 2018 she has been Associate Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University- School of Advanced International Studies, Bologna Center, and from 2018 to 2021, a member of the Executive Board of Italian Society for International History (SISI).
Her main research interests focus on contemporary History of Latin America, the politics of memory and human rights, Inter-American cultural relations, and cultural cold war.
She has published five books as an author, four volumes as an editor, and articles and book chapters in Spain, the UK, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, the United States, and Chile.
