RIZZI Caterina

Caterina Rizzi was awarded a master degree in Physics at University of Milan in 1985 and, since 2001, she is full professor at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering, University of Bergamo.
Head of the Department of Management, Information and Production, University of Bergamo from Sept 2014 to Sept 2020.
She was Coordinator (a.y. 2017-18) and now Member of the Academic Board of the PhD programme in Technology, Innovation and Management (TIM) jointly founded University of Bergamo and University of Naples Federico II (2017-).
Since April 2023 she is Coordinator of the PhD programme in Health and Longevity jointly founded University of Bergamo and Istituto Mario Negri.
Since 1985, she has being carried out research activities on methodologies and ICT tools to support the product development process in different industrial contexts. At present, the research areas concern: Virtual prototyping; VR/AR; Virtual Ergonomics; Methods and tools for Motion Acquisition and Digital human modelling; Design and simulation of patient-based devices for medical applications; Design for AM; Novel solutions for motor and neurocognitive rehabilitation and Sustainable design.
She coordinates the V&K-Virtualisation & Knowledge research Group composed by 14 people.
She participated and coordinated research activities within the frame of the national projects, Italian Ministry of Education and Research (MUR), Lombardy Region and Fondazione Cariplo and international projects funded by the European Commission.
She is author and co-author of more than 250 publications (137 Scopus indexed). Chair and Program Chair of international conferences and member of editorial boards.
Appointed as evaluator of industrial and research project proposals by the European Commission, Piemonte Region, MUR and University of Padua.
Founder and co-owner of BiGFLO spin-off whose aim is to develop software solutions for product and process innovation (2012-present).
