Francesca Guidotti (PhD: Literary Theory and Textual Analysis, MA: Multimedia Publishing and Digital Communication) is Associate Professor of English literature at the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Bergamo. She is the Coordinator of the seminars on dissertation writing for the three-year bachelor's degree program Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, a member of the Faculty of the PhD Program Transcultural Studies in Humanities, and the Director of the Humanities Summer School. She also works in the field of teachers training. She previously worked as a high school teacher and as a multimedia project manager (e-learning, e-government).
Her research interests include English and American science fiction, post-apocalyptic imagination, the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century novel, Romantic poetry, the reworking, and transmedia dissemination of literary classics and cultural icons (Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Tolkien, “Frankenstein”), the theories and practices of translation, as well as the didactics of literature.
