• Ph.D. in “Engineering and Applied Sciences” at University of Bergamo.
Thesis title: “Implicit Discontinuous Galerkin methods with efficient time integration for incompressible variable density and compressible turbulent flows”
• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (LM-33) at Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Brescia.
Thesis title: “Schema di integrazione numerica temporale MEBDF per la simulazione di flussi turbolenti comprimibili instazionari”
Present position:
Fixed-term researcher (A-type) in Fluid Dynamics (SSD ING-IND/06) at Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University of Bergamo
Research interests:
• Implementation of implicit and explicit high order time integration schemes in a Discontinuous Galerkin finite element solver.
• Development of adaptive timestep techniques for both compressible and incompressible unsteady turbulent flows.
• Development of algorithms for the efficiency enhancement of linear and nonlinear system solvers, e.g. quasi-Newton method and Generalized Minimal Residual method.
• Development of novel Riemann solvers for incompressible flows of one or more immiscible components.
• Solution of turbulent flows at moderate and moderate-to-high Reynolds numbers characterized by separation of the boundary layer
Research projects:
• ROSAS (2025-2028, Horizon Europe) Development of high-order, AI-enhanced CFD methods for efficient and sustainable aircraft design.
• HiFi-TURB (2019-2022, H2020) Use of DNS simulations and artificial intelligence for the improvement of turbulence models.
• Dropit (2017-2025) Droplet interaction technologies. Droplet-Droplet, Droplet-Liquid, Droplet-Solid dynamics.
• Tilda (2015-2018, Horizon2020) Towards Industrial LES and DNS in aeronautics. Development and assessment of high order and highly scalable CFD methods for large eddy simulation for practical aeronautic flows.
