ROSACE Giuseppe

Giuseppe Rosace is a Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/03) at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University of Bergamo. Since 2022, he has been the Delegate of the Rector for technology transfer, spin-offs and relations with the U4I Foundation. He also coordinates the Laboratory "Textile Chemistry, Composites and Interface Science" at the Engineering Campus of the University of Bergamo. He is also a member of the PhD College in "Sustainable Technology for Industrial and Construction Engineering". Giuseppe Rosace is also a founding member of "ArgoChem Srl," a non-participating spin-off, authorized by the University of Bergamo on 9.5.2017.
Prof. Rosace is affiliated with the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) and the Interuniversity Consortium for the Development of Large Interphase Systems (CSGI). Since 2013, he has been secretary general of the International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colorists (IFATCC).
His research focuses mainly on colloidal chemistry and the synthesis and characterization of organic-inorganic hybrid materials for functionalizing polymer surfaces. The coatings developed exhibit barrier properties or stimuli-responsive characteristics, enhancing the properties of treated materials, or enabling the development of wearable chemical sensors.
He has co-authored about 100 papers published in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings, 4 book chapters and 4 patents. He was awarded in 2011 and 2015 by the University of Bergamo for his research activities. His h-index is 35 (Scopus, December 2025).
