Curriculum Vitae
Stefano Tomelleri, Ph.D, is a full professor at the Department of Management and Deputy Rector for Participatory Planning at the University of Bergamo. Actually, he is President of the Italian Sociological Association (AIS) for the term 2023-2025, after serving as Vice-President for the term 2020-2022.
Credentials:
Ph.D. in Sociology from the Institute of Sociology and Political Studies at the University of Parma. Degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Parma.
Research:
His intense theoretical and empirical research activity is articulated in the following areas: a) sociological theories of emotions and social transformations; b) sociology of medicine; and sociology of welfare organization. His research appeared in international journals such as Sociologia Italiana, Studi di Sociologia, Studi Organizzativi, Sociologia, Frontiers in Sociology, and Società Mutamento Politica. He is the Scientific Director of the National Scientific Journal (Class A), SOCIOLOGIA ITALIANA - AIS Journal of Sociology; member of the Editorial Board of the National Scientific Journal Class A, STUDI DI SOCIOLOGIA; member of the Scientific Committee of the National Scientific Journal Class A, SALUTE E SOCIETA’.
Professional Activities:
Since 2016, he has participated in the activities of the national research group promoted by the Documentation Center on Personal Services "Comaggia Medici" of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Congregation of Apostolic Charity. The national qualitative research is titled "Responsible Welfare" and studies the new configurations of the welfare system in the current demographic, social, and economic scenario. Finally, he has developed innovative research and training projects for managers and welfare organizations.
