Academic Position:
Associate professor of Sociology at the Department of Management, University of Bergamo. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Center on Economic, Social and Cooperative Dynamics (CESC) and of the Board of the Center for Teaching Quality, Teaching Innovation and Learning of the University of Bergamo (CQIIA).
She is president of the European Survey Research Association, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the European Values Study. She is member of the OECD Global Technical Advisory Group on masculinities. She is a member of the presidency of ACLI Lombardia with responsibility for Studies and Research.
Education: PhD in Sociology and Social Research Methods at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
Research: Her research activity focuses on the comparative study of European values, attitudes toward gender roles and changing values in the work dimension. She is an expert in survey methodology and has a specific interest in the quality of instruments adopted by large cross-national survey programs and on the challenges for comparability. Her work has been published in relevant high-impact international scientific journals such as European Societies, Cross-Cultural Research, and Social Science Research.
She is a member of the Advisory Board of Survey Research Methods and the editorial board of Studies in Sociology. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the project “Political Masculinities”, led by prof. Liza Mugge, University of Amsterdam.
She has participated in and coordinated numerous national and international research projects on the topics of gender inequality, social and economic participation of youth, social research infrastructure.
She is currently involved in the following projects:
- PoweR - Promoting inclusive and responsible companies as agents of change (Fondazione Cariplo), Coordinator
- MEN4DEM - Masculinity for the future of European democracy (Horizon Europe), Work Package Leader
- Missione Bergamo (UniBG in collaboration with L'Eco di Bergamo), Co-coordinator
- Youth, work and jobs: New trajectories and policies in the context of economic, social, demographic transition (University Project), Co-coordinator
- TRANSET Lab (Project of Excellence of the Department of Management), Co-coordinator
- EVS-Italy (Sixth Wave of the European Values Study), Co-coordinator
- European Values Study, secretary of executive committee.
