BRUMANA Mara

Mara Brumana is Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering at the University of Bergamo, Italy.
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Center for Young and Family Enterprise (CYFE) and of the Executive Committe of SdM - Scuola di Alta Formazione of the University of Bergamo. Since March 2022, she has also been a member of the Rector staff for the design of the University's strategic plan.
Since May 2022 she is Affiliated Researcher at the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO) at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS). In the past few years she has been Affiliated Researcher also at the Institute of Change Management and Management Development (CMMD), at WU, Vienna University of Economics and Business.
She is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Family Business Strategy, member of the Editorial Review Board of the European Management Review, Journal of Business Research and Family Business Review, as well as ad hoc reviewer for several international journals in her research field.
Mara’s research interests include the embeddedness of organizations within social and institutional contexts and how this influences processes of social evaluation, organizations’ decision-making and entrepreneurial behaviours. These phenomena are observed mainly through qualitative inquiries with an inductive approach (i.e., longitudinal or multiple case studies), with active collaborations also on quantitative projects. Traditional primary sources such as interviews and observations are combined with secondary sources.
