My main research topics are
- the relationship between the body and town planning in the Active City perspective
- children’s rights in sport
- children’s autonomy and play
- sport organizations and policies focussing on sport for all and grass-root sport
- sport and social interventions
- sustainable didactics

PhD in Social Sciences of Sport at the University of Jyväskylä (FIN).

Invited lecturer at several universities in Europe; key-note speaker in numerous conferences.

Formerly scientific coordinator of four EU and one international projects.

Supervisor of four PhD candidates at the UNICLAM PhD Schools of “Civil, Mechanic, and Biomechanics Engineering” and “Electrical and Information Technologies”.
Co-supervisor of a PhD candidate in the International PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning – IDAUP.
Member of the “Followers group” of a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of the University of Jyväskylä.
