Curriculum Vitae

Francesco Magni is Associate Professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the Department of Human and Social Sciences, University of Bergamo (Italy).
In June 2023, he obtained the national qualification for Full Professor.
At the University of Bergamo, he serves as the Rector's delegate for initial teacher education programs and relations with the ITS Academy Foundations. He is also Deputy Director and board member of the Center for Quality Teaching, Educational Innovation and Learning (CQIIA).
He is a member of the national board of the Italian Society of Pedagogy (SIPED) for the 2021-2024 and 2025-2027 terms.
Deputy Director of the Journal "Nuova Secondaria" and "Dirigenti Scuola". He is also a member of the editorial board of "Pedagogia Oggi" as well as a member of the scientific board of the "CQIIA Rivista", "Nuova Professionalità" and the "Polish Journal of Educational Studies".
In 2019, he was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Education Policy, School of Education, Johns Hopkins University (USA).
In 2023, he was a visiting scholar at the Facultad de Filosofía y Ciencias de la Educación, Universitat de València, and the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh.
In 2024 he was a visiting scholar at the Universität Konstanz in Germany.
He is a member of several academic networks and associations, including the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE), VETNET (European Research Network on Vocational Education and Training) and the European Research Review Group of the Edge Foundation (UK).
His main research interests include teacher education, education policies, work-based learning, vocational education and training, higher education, and educational pluralism.
